Building Resilience

Not surprisingly:

Trauma isn't in the event that happens — it's how YOUR body responds to it. One event will be a breeze for one body & the same event may cause another to collapse from overwhelm. There’s nothing wrong with either body, but the opportunity is ours to learn from & heal if we’re the ones overwhelmed.

Our bodies have incredible & merciful ways to keep us safe. If we trip, our arms and hands extend to protect us. If a storm approaches, our body gets us away. If a loud noise catches us by surprise - our head & shoulders tuck in to hide & protect our core organs.

But when an event causes overwhelm, it overloads the body. Defenses show up, tight musculature, fascia, blood restriction. These impact our movement, sleep, digestion, socialization.

When a similar event occurs, our bodies predict a similar outcome. The patterns continue to wind around and around.

Hi, I'm Kath

I absolutely adore helping courageous, curious people create more space in their bodies.

For much of my life, I lived detached and overwhelmed from my life. I didn’t know the clues to create more connection were under the skin.

Somatic Experiencing & ISP trauma resolution helps me connect with ME. This work keeps building my intrinsic sense of safety, worth, and value & helps me stay in more plugged in to my boundaries. It has been a GAME CHANGER.

My practice is rooted in deep listening, empathy, meeting you where you right here and helping you create a reality from your deepest desires. As a fellow creative, I also understand the vulnerability and discipline that comes with putting your yourself (& your art) into the world.

Common Questions

  • Therapists do incredible work processing past experiences and diagnosing mental health conditions. Somatic coaching focuses on practical tools for what's happening in your system right now, helping you build capacity for future challenges. Many clients do both and find they complement each other beautifully.

  • Not at all. This work supports anyone wanting to live with more ease, confidence, and authentic expression. We all have stress responses that could benefit from completion and integration, whether from major events or daily life pressures.

  • That's completely normal and exactly where we start. Many people live disconnected from body sensations. Part of this work is gently learning to notice and interpret your body's signals without pressure or judgment.

  • If you're tired of just coping and ready to build genuine capacity, if you want practical tools for life's challenges, or if you're curious about what your body might have to teach you, this work could be a good fit. Small Groups and Community Workshops are a low risk and more affordable way to try it out.
