My Journey Back to Myself—And How I Can Guide You
Back to Yours
Sometimes the most powerful teachers are those who've walked the path themselves.
For 20 years, I lived disconnected from my own body, not even realizing the price I was paying. Here's how I found my way back—and why that journey makes me uniquely qualified to guide you back to yours.
The Long Road to Somatic Work
I used to think I was fine. Really.
For two decades, I pushed through life, coped when things got hard, and convinced myself that the growing heaviness I felt was just...normal. What I didn't realize was that I was living almost entirely disconnected from my body, from my intuition, from the very wisdom that could have been guiding me all along.
The wake-up call came in the form of 15 years of depression.
Not the kind that keeps you in bed (though there were those days), but the kind that makes everything feel muted, like you're living life through a thick pane of glass. I was functional, successful even, but I wasn't really alive.
Like that time as a kid when I tried to create a shortcut to the football stadium from my house, only to wind up with scratches and bruises from scrambling through hills and gullies. The path I forged was longer, more uncomfortable, and ultimately way more difficult than the original route. I was doing the same thing with my emotional life—taking exhausting detours around my own feelings instead of learning to move through them.
When I finally discovered Somatic Experiencing, everything changed. Not overnight—real transformation rarely works that way—but gradually, profoundly. I began to understand something revolutionary: trauma isn't what happens to your body, but how your body responds to a situation. And more importantly, those responses could be worked with, shifted, completed.
Why My Experience Matters
Here's what 20 years of disconnection taught me that no textbook could:
I know what it feels like to live in survival mode while everyone thinks you're doing fine. I know the exhaustion of coping mechanisms that work just well enough to get you through another day.
And here's what my journey back
taught me:
Healing isn't about becoming someone new—it's about remembering who you've always been and learning to access that wisdom in your daily life, creating genuine tools for lasting change.
This lived experience, combined with my formal training as both a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) practitioner, gives me something unique to offer. I'm not observing your challenges from the outside—I've been there.
I still work with stage fright and imposter syndrome. The difference is, now I have tools. Now I have awareness. Now I have choice.
What Makes My Work Different
My approach combines professional somatic training with deep personal experience of disconnection and healing. As both a practitioner and fellow traveler on this journey, I offer something unique: the ability to guide you from a place of genuine understanding while providing the skilled support you need to find your own way forward.
Outdoor Sessions Available
Sometimes the best healing happens walking in nature, letting your nervous system naturally regulate among trees and open sky.
Community & Group Mastery
I specialize in creating containers where people heal in community, from intimate 12-person cohorts to larger workshops.
Creative-Focused Understanding
Decades in the creative industry taught me the unique challenges artists face—the vulnerability, uncertainty, and how criticism can feel like a threat to your being.
Real-World
Application
Everything we explore is designed for your actual life—creative projects, relationships, daily challenges—with more ease and authenticity.
Why Work With Me
Because I've been where you are.
I know disconnection, exhaustion, and coping mechanisms that sort of work but never get to the root.
Because I believe in your wholeness.
You don't need fixing. You need to remember who you've always been and develop tools to live from that knowing.
Because I understand the creative path.
If you're an artist or creative entrepreneur, I get your unique challenges because I've lived them.
Because I'm still on the journey.
I don't work from some enlightened mountaintop—I'm a fellow traveler with useful tools.
I promise to meet you without judgment, listen deeply, and share tools tested in real life. I can't do the work for you, but I can show you the way. Most importantly: I'll remind you until you feel it in your bones—You're lovable right now. Even if you don't believe it.
